Kwame Kuadey, the founder and CEO of, received the 2014 Ernest & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award for Consumer and Technology Services on Thursday evening. The eight Maryland winners were announced at the annual black-tie event held at the Hilton in Baltimore. The EY awards program recognizes high-growth entrepreneurs who demonstrate excellence and success  in financial performance, innovation and personal commitment to their business and local community.

Kwame founded in 2008 as a bootstrapped start-up company. The company got it’s big break on the hit ABC show, Shark Tank, where they were successfully pitched an investment. Since appearing on the show, the company has gone on to sell more than $30 million in gift cards. Last year, was ranked as the 151st fastest-growing private company in America by the Inc. 500. remains one of the poineers in the gift card exchange industry. Selling discounted gift cards to over 450 popular brands at up to 40% off and buying unwanted gift cards from consumers at up to 92% of their face value.
